The Taft School - John L. Vogelstein Dormitory

Description: New 30,000 square foot, four-level residence hall with additional attic level and partial basement. Composite floor framing system with concentrically braced frames used to resist earthquake loads. Intricate detailing of structure required to blend new building with the 1930's era building to which it connects. Connector bridge to existing building constructed of cast-in-place concrete slabs and arches. Project also included alterations to adjacent Charles Phelps Taft Hall.
